About the role
Join as one of the first engineers at Merato and shape the technical foundation of the recruiting marketplace. You'll work across the full stack — from database schema design to pixel-perfect UI — shipping features that directly impact how companies and recruiters connect.
What you'll do
- Design and build core platform features end-to-end
- Make foundational architecture decisions that scale with the product
- Ship fast with high quality — we deploy multiple times per day
- Collaborate directly with founders on product direction
- Set engineering culture and practices as the team grows
- Own the reliability and performance of production systems
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong full-stack skills — TypeScript, React, Node.js
- Experience with PostgreSQL and relational database design
- Comfort working in early-stage environments with ambiguity
- Track record of shipping products that users love
- Clear written communication for async-first collaboration
Nice to have
- Experience with Next.js App Router and React Server Components
- Background in marketplace or two-sided platform products
- Familiarity with Drizzle ORM, Tailwind CSS, or shadcn/ui
- Previous founding or early-stage startup experience
